Bio

Reema A. Aref’s practice focuses on Tax litigation, Tax dispute resolution and Tax controversy from the objection stages to Tax appeals before Tax Judicial Committees, currently working in Ernst & Young Riyadh as a Senior Manager – Corporate Law, in Business Tax Advisory.

She has extensive trial and appellate advocacy experience and has regularly appeared before the ADR committees, Tax Judicial committees.
Prior to Joining EY, Reema A. Aref has worked at Saudi Aramco in Dhahran for Six years, as a Legal Investigator, investigating corporate legal Issues, fraud and forgery cases, and labor law issues.
Seconded to join a special assignment at the Saudi Aramco’s Chairman office in the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources in Riyadh.
And was a legal supervisor in the Reviews and Appeal department at the General Authority of Zakat and Tax in Riyadh for a year.

Education:

Completed her Law Degree with Criminal Justice at Leeds Law School (The University of Leeds, United Kingdom).
Completed two courses in Protecting Human Rights through United Nations Mechanism at the University of Nottingham’s Human Rights Center, and Arbitration Training Course with the Saudi Law Training Center.

Published a legal research in Investigative Criminology: Investigative Strategies and Techniques of Interviews and Interrogations.
